Be a shareholder activist
If you own shares in a company, you have a voice in that company. Shareholders can file proposals at companies whose shares they own, and vote on proposals they want the company to adopt. You can ask your financial advisor to help you with this or check out As You Sow, a non-profit that has lots of resources on helping shareholders harness their power to create lasting change that benefits people and the planet.
