Look for the CE mark
If you live outside of Europe, you may not know what the CE mark is that you see on products sometimes. It means “Conformité Européene” which translated means “European Conformity”. It is a symbol that indicates that the product on which it is marked meets the standards of health, safety and environmental protection of the EU. Since the environmental health standards are much higher in the EU than in the USA or Canada (and these countries don’t have an equivalent symbol anyway), it’s an easy way to see if that product has been tested for known carcinogens and endocrine disruptors.
