Be mindful of stress over the holidays
The holidays can be a really fun but also stressful time. There’s the gift shopping, the gatherings, the family drama, the end of year work deadlines, the expectations from your children.. It adds up and you can find yourself with a lot of extra stress. And if you don’t lean on some effective relaxation and self-care techniques, your stress may trigger overeating, over drinking, arguments with your family, not getting enough sleep, and just generally neglecting your needs. One way to make sure you take care of yourself is to alternate things that need to get done with things you’d like to do for yourself, like doing some meditation or going for a jog. That way, you don’t run yourself ragged tackling your to-do list and then realize at the end of the holidays that you haven’t done anything for yourself.
