Move your body
We are all so busy it seems like there is always a good excuse to not exercise. But science suggests that moving your body only 20 minutes a day (or 30 minutes 5 days a week) can have a BIG benefit to your health, mind, and lifespan. It dramatically reduces the risk of diabetes, heart disease, dementia, cancer, and premature death. It allows you to create twice as many brain cells as those who don’t exercise. It creates mood lifting endorphins and other chemicals for your brain that leave you feeling happier, more relaxed, and less anxious. It increases muscle strength and boosts your endurance. And it can help you fall asleep faster, get better sleep, and deepen your sleep. 20 minutes a day really isn’t that tough, you just have to be committed to doing it daily. A quick jog before or after work or a brisk walk at lunch would do the trick. Make it a priority and get moving. You will feel so much better.
