DIY deodorant

Make your own deodorant

It is dead easy to make your own deodorant. It’s just equal parts baking soda and coconut oil mixed together. You can put in a few drops of essential oils if you want a scent (lavender or tea tree oil work well). That is seriously it. You keep it in a glass jar with a lid in the cupboard. Boom.

Some people have sensitive skin and their skin reacts to baking soda, so if that’s you, here’s another recipe. It has more ingredients but is still super simple to make: 3 tbsp bentonite clay, 4 tbsp arrowroot powder or corn starch, 5 tbsp coconut oil, 6 tsp shea butter, and 5-8 drops essential oil. Mix it all together in a glass jar with lid.

Ta-da. No more buying plastic container after plastic container of deodorant with weird ingredients.
